Aidan is playing Coach Pitch this year, as I mentioned EEK! T-ball was so nice and laid back -and easy. Now its the big time - pitching, foul balls, and strikes. OK, not really the big time. But, T-ball doesn't take much effort. HA HA
Aidan is on the dark red team, Town Center Dental. Our awesome coach calls our team The Hillbilly Cheese. I have no idea why but it's perfect!
Aidan is learning, he even struck out some kids. WOOHOO!
Go Hillbilly Cheese #6!

Party Time
It is PARTY TIME! Never a dull moment. At the last minute we got our baseball schedule and crap - the day of his party is the same day as the Opening Parade and ceremonies for RLL. Not just opening day events but also team pics AND games.Since just about every child in Robbinsville seems to play little league, a big uh-oh and panic set in briefly.
Thankfully, it worked out and Aidan still had a good crowd at his party. He had it at Everson's Karate. It was a great party. The kids had a lot of fun. Most imporantly, Aidan felt special. I was so proud of him standing up infront of a large crowd doing karate moves. He even kicked a wood board in half!
One of the highlights at the party was cutting the cake with a real, very large, very sharp, sword. So, he requested a Pikachu cake and I was happy to make it.
After the party we had a quick stop at home and then back out to the Baseball game. Where he did a great job.
It was a fun day for Aidan and for all of us. I love Aidan's smiles and he had a lot of them that day!

Easter 2010
Holidays are still interesting. We are still trying how to make them fun and exciting for the children. In the past, we spent them with my brothers and their kids. My kids were finally getting old enough to play and build relationships with their cousins. Then they moved, to SC. Now holidays have changed, no big chaotic family gatherings. I want to be sure they have good memories.
This year we did the usual Egg Hunt at Rose Hill in Robbinsville. Delaney still does not like big hairy creatures. We did our egg decorating and of course, the Easter Bunny egg and basket hunt. After a big breakfast we went to Point Pleasant, NJ..to the boardwalk. It was a beautiful day. Sunny, 70+ degrees. Can't beat it in April! We even put our toes in the sand. Ahhh, summer in April!
I know my brother has done this with his mother in law but I didn't know what to expect. OMG, it was packed like a summer day. We went on rides, had an early dinner/late lunch at Martell's and won some stuffed animals (Aidan got PlipPlop, a Pokemon character!)
It was a great day and if the weather holds out, I think I want to make that our Easter tradition. Apparently we are not alone by the number of people there. Maybe it wasn't a traditional Easter but it was a fun and memorable one.

Aquarium and Zoo:Spring Break fun
Pop Pop took Aidan to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden for his birthday. The Dynamic Duo and I tagged along. We took the River Line, the train that brings you right to the aquarium. It was so much easier going that way and cheap too! I definately plan on doing that again when I go back in May for a field trip.
The kiddies had fun. It was a gorgeous day out. The sharks are always a hit! That tunnel is so neat! They wanted to take the giant crab home to scare daddy. Daddy has a fear of crabs. The hippo was a hit as well.
Thanks Pop Pop!
Another day my friend Brandi and I took the kiddies to a local zoo in Columbus NJ. It was after a major rain so the mud was lovely. Every animal we went to seemed to be taking care of natures business. Which was funny and I am sure what the 5 children will remember the most. You get to feed the animals at this zoo, so that is fun. The giraffes were amazing. My fave part definately. The kids liked the monkeys, esp the baboons. Those pink hineys are funny, aren't they?
We had a nice Spring Break, I like having my three bears home

My buddy turns 7
My baby is 7. At 6:57 PM on March 27, 2003, Aidan Robert came into this world. What a day that was! He made me a mom, that gives him a special part of my heart.
He told me he was boss of the week. The week?! I think he is always boss around here. He asked for a poke ball cake and dinner at Outback. We obliged. So, the Boss got his wish. We went bowling at Country Lanes in Manalapan. Which was fun. Rob and I didn't score that much better than the kids. OOPS! Aidan wanted to eat at the concession stand, so the Boss got his way. (It wasn't half bad actually). We had a fun family day. A nice way to spend my baby's birthday.
I was lucky to go into his classroom three times this week. I was a mystery reader, and he told me "if you are ever a reader, THIS is the book you will read and you will make a goodie bag too" The book was Harold and The Purple Crayon and he insisted each child gets a purple crayon and a little pad. Do you know how hard it is to find that many purple crayons?
I also went in for his bday celebration. I read an Arthur story and we had icecream (purchased through the cafeteria, modern times!). Delaney and Logan came and that was cute. Delaney fit right in. I heard her talking Taylor Swift with some of the girls. Logan ate every last drip of icecream. Just as expected.More concerned with the sweets than anything else. Aidan was proud to show off his siblings. On Friday I went back in for my Room Parent duties - a craft. I love seeing Aidan in his element. He has a great group of friends. :)

Some facts about Aidan at 7.
Aidan wants to be a policeman when he grows up. He likes black and red and all things Pokemon. He loves hamburgers, quesadillas and hot wings. He thinks he is a rock star and his favorite song is "Bad to the Bone" He has lost 7 teeth so far.
He rides a two wheeler like a crazy man.Crazier by he day. He still wants bike ramps. (no!) He plays football in Allentown and baseball in Robbinsville. He loves kickball and plays it at recess everyday (and his socks are permanently stained from the dirt). He is a Cub Scout. He takes swim lessons at Peddie. Our neighbors got a basketball net and he shoots baskets daily.
He is my buddy, he is such a good kid and so smart. My numbers kid. I tell him I am following him, whereever he goes as an adult. He tells me he is taking the last spot in the town. Maybe he will move to Venus. Yea, sure. This is the same boy who insists I cuddle with him nightly, tuck him in "just right" and sleeps with his two kitty cats. He wants to be a tough kid but he isn't. And that makes me happy. He wants to be independent, craves it at times, but at the same time, I am still the one he wants when he is hurt, upset, or needs a cuddle. I hope it stays like that forever. Aidan and I have a special bond. His smile and his laugh melts my heart, everyday.
